There are moments in this business that feel especially meaningful.
Not simply because of an award or an accolade, but because they remind me why I fell in love with creating art in the first place.
I am incredibly excited to share that my piece Balanced Beginnings has been accepted into the Nicolaysen Art Museum in Casper, Wyoming, as part of their 2026 annual fundraising gala and art auction.
The piece will be featured at The NIC’s Canvas of Curiosities Gala on September 11th, alongside artwork from other regional artists.
For me, this is about so much more than having a photograph displayed in a museum. It is an honor to have my work considered alongside artists whose work is being collected, exhibited and celebrated—and an even greater privilege to have photography represented as fine art in this setting.
And it feels particularly special because this is the second consecutive year that one of my pieces has received this kind of recognition. In 2025, Sunrise at Sylvan was accepted into the South Dakota Permanent Art Collection.
Two pieces. Two very different landscapes. Two opportunities to see photography not simply as a portrait or a photograph, but as art worthy of being lived with, collected and remembered.
Cheers,
Allison
